01. How affiliate links work
GlowTended participates in affiliate programs. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission. This helps fund our research, testing, writing, and template development.
No extra cost: Affiliate commissions typically do not change the price you pay. You pay the same whether or not you use our link.
02. Our testing & review standard
GlowTended is not a "roundup site." Our recommendations follow a research-driven and test-informed workflow. Depending on the cleanser type, that may include:
- Ingredient analysis: surfactant profiles, pH balance, active concentrations, fragrance/essential oil presence, and preservation systems.
- Performance testing: cleansing efficacy, lipid-retention metrics, rinse-ability, skin-feel post-wash, and long-term barrier impact.
- Skin-needs matching: dry/dehydrated, oily/congested, sensitive/reactive, mature, and acne-prone skin profiles.
- Trade-off clarity: we explicitly explain what a cleanser is good at, and what it's weak at.
Important: Some articles are based on direct hands-on testing; others combine hands-on testing with clinical studies, manufacturer data, and dermatological science principles. When a post includes hands-on testing, we say so clearly.
03. Editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not control our editorial decisions. Specifically:
